Lake

We love weddings!!!

This weekend, Danielle and I were talking about how much fun it is to be a part of someone's wedding day. We agree that it would be a difficult job to do on a daily basis because it is a little more demanding than traditional jobs. But it truly is different at every wedding and we love it!!!

I just feel like I should let everyone know what a great team we have right now. I am sure that most people don't know my story. But I am a single mother who started this company in hopes of being able to have a flexible schedule while my son, Lake, is growing up. I added a hair dresser first to be able to have full services. And in the past 3 years we have grown at an incredible rate. I am so pleased with where we are now.

We have a team of 7 sylists and 2 assistant planners. We are constantly thinking of ways to become better out our jobs and more effective. We realize that you only get one chance when you are dealing with weddings and we want it to be perfect for you. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and have a flawless wedding day.

Anyway, thanks to all who have hired us over the past 2.5 years and to those who we will be working with in the future. You will never know how important this business is to me. And I can only hope that it shows in our work.

What a Summer!

For the past few weeks, we have been consumed with weddings. And that is such a great feeling. To know that we are giving excellent service and really connecting with our brides makes me feel very pleased. Over 75% of our business comes from referrals and I think that is quite an accomplishment.

We have been with Beebe and Corinne Tran (www.studiotran.com) for 3 weeks in a row now and I really enjoy working with them. Such great people and also great pics.

This weekend I will be going to Ormond Plantation for the first time and I am always excited to check out new venues. We will also be in the city taking care of Dana Dugas. I am posting a f few of her bridal portraits. She is such a beautiful bride and the pictures came out great...thanks to Sam Gregory. Sam is another photographer that I have worked closely with and I really enjoy. (www.samgregoryphotography.com)

Busy Wedding Season

You know when I started this blog I was so excited; thinking that I would update it all of the time. Well, needless to say, it is much more time consuming than I realized. We have had a great couple of weeks with some awesome brides. I am posting a few pics of Allison Nunez (May 10th), courtesy of Beebe Tran. She came out beautiful and her bridal party was a delight. We will also be taking care of her sister, Amy, in June. I am still figuring out how they were able to plan 2 weddings so close together and keep their sanity.

We also truly enjoyed doing day of coordination and beauty for Tricia Strayer on May 17th. The ceremony/reception took place at Broussards and was really beautiful and delicious. Her photographer was Sam Gregory, and as always, he was great to work with.

We also just completed our first on location spa party this weekend for Stephanie Jackson. Michael Tran and company, came out on location (on the wedding day) and gave everyone mani's and pedi's and even, acrylics. The bridal party was raving about how great it was to have that service.

We look forward to all of our weddings coming up. We are happy to be busy and working constantly. Thanks again to all of the brides who refer us endlessly.

New Nail Services at GP

Hey Everyone.
Get Polished is now offering full service nails on-location as well as "in salon" for spa parties. We have teamed up with a local nail salon to offer services such as manicures, pedicures and even, acrylics at your hotel. You will also be able to reserve the salon for your private spa party, which can include food, drinks and favors. Your bridesmaids and family will love it.

While this is something that we tried before, I realized that it just wasn't our specialty. However, you can rest assured that Michael Tran, our new partner, will do a great job. Michael has owned a salon for quite some time, and became interested in weddings through his brother, Photography Beebe Tran. Look for the price list to be listed on the website sometime next week.

Finally Up and Running

After weeks of planning, organizing and trying to get everything together; we are launching the new website and blog. I am totally excited that we are expanding into this new venture. Get Polished has been so successful and I really believe that it is the level of service that we offer our clients. We will be no different when planning.

Although, I wasn't raised here; I love this city and now consider myself a local. I can't think of anywhere else in the world that I would want to get married.

A few weeks ago, we went to the Weddings In Style Bridal show at Annadele's Plantation. We designed a slideshow with an overview of our recent work, so I have attached it so you guys can take a look.
