Get Polished Makeup

We just wanted to remind everyone that Get Polished does have our own makeup line that was started last year. While we are still working to choose products and complete the line, we have quite a few awesome products that are really great for brides as well as everyone else. The line was launched with a few key things in mind: affordability and staying power being at the top of our list. We work in an industry where it is an absolute necessity for the makeup to remain on for the entire day so we have products that are water resistant and full of pigment.

We will be adding the makeup line to the website shortly, but until then we have listed a few items that we have available.

Age Defying Foundation
Two-Way Full Coverage Powder Foundation
Water Proof eyeliners, eyeshadows, mascaras and lipliners
Tons of shadows, glosses and lipsticks

Set up an appointment now to come into the Get Polished Studio and learn more as well as receive a FREE makeup lesson.

Marion and Drew

We are a little late posting this, but we loved this couple so much that we wanted to be sure to include them in our blog. Marion and Drew were married on September 19th, 2009, at Immaculate Conception in New Orleans. Their reception was at the New Orleans Board of Trade, which is one of our favorite venues. The couple really wanted to keep a classic and traditional vibe so we paid close attention to the details in order to make the event special. We served Signature Pimm's Cups as the guests arrived from the ceremony and featured New Orleans specialialty items such as a Shrimp and Grits and Red Beans and Rice (the groom's favorite) on the buffet. Photos were taken by Sandra O'Claire (http://www.eauclairephotographics.com/) and came out great.

Update

I know that I am super terrible about staying on top of this blog. But frankly, it is very busy in my world right now. I wanted to jump on to give a few updates that are happening over the summer.
First of all, something that we are very excited about. Get Polished will be launching our own line of makeup specifically targeted for brides. It will feature water proof items and long wearing smooth lipsticks for touch ups, as well as the skincare items that brides need to get their skin ready for the big day.
Some other things is that we now sell customized favors and second line umbrellas. We will have an extensive list up on the website in the coming month or so.
This past weekend was a big weekend for us at Get Polished and I wanted to share a few pics. These are from Rebecca and Steve's wedding at the Benachi House and Gardens. It was a beautiful ceremony and rockin reception. Just a little hot, of course, but it is New Orleans in May!

Lake

We love weddings!!!

This weekend, Danielle and I were talking about how much fun it is to be a part of someone's wedding day. We agree that it would be a difficult job to do on a daily basis because it is a little more demanding than traditional jobs. But it truly is different at every wedding and we love it!!!

I just feel like I should let everyone know what a great team we have right now. I am sure that most people don't know my story. But I am a single mother who started this company in hopes of being able to have a flexible schedule while my son, Lake, is growing up. I added a hair dresser first to be able to have full services. And in the past 3 years we have grown at an incredible rate. I am so pleased with where we are now.

We have a team of 7 sylists and 2 assistant planners. We are constantly thinking of ways to become better out our jobs and more effective. We realize that you only get one chance when you are dealing with weddings and we want it to be perfect for you. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and have a flawless wedding day.

Anyway, thanks to all who have hired us over the past 2.5 years and to those who we will be working with in the future. You will never know how important this business is to me. And I can only hope that it shows in our work.
